The OSPF, a volunteer, not for profit foundation, is celebrating it’s 25th Anniversay by holding an Orchid Show in Edmonton’s City Hall. The event will be officially opened on Friday, August 12th at 4:30 pm. The show and opening event are open to the public and will feature live orchid displays and information displays representing countries from around the world.

Our many volunteers, old and new, will be acknowledged as will our partners and associates, including the Muttart Conservatory, MacEwan University, the Wagner Wet Land Society and the Orchid Society of Alberta.

With the support of all these individuals and organizations the OSPF has been able to create an ‘World Renown’ species orchid collection here in Edmonton – one of the top 10 in North America!.

The Orchid Show will feature live blooming orchids, some from our collection which will represent countries from around the world. This will take place on Saturday Aug. 13th and Sunday Aug.14th.  Also included are potting displays, question and answer sessions, a colouring table and a selfie photo opportunity – seeing yourself as an orchid of your choice!

Pre- arranged tours of our orchid collection and our new Orchid Resource Centre (ORC) will also take place this weekend.

The show will remain open for public viewing until Wednesday, August 17th.
